Nancy Hurrell

Nancy Hurrell is a performer, arranger, and teacher. Living in Boston, Nancy performs solo harp for events and concerts, on classical harps, historical harps, and Celtic harp. She is the harpist for tea at Boston's Ritz-Carlton Hotel.

Nancy enjoys teaching workshops at conferences and to groups around the country. In Boston she gives gallery talks at the Museum of Fine Arts on the harp collection. She is a member of the collaborative faculty at The Boston Conservatory, specializing in early music and Scottish/Irish music.

Workshop Descriptions:

PLAYING IN A HARP ENSEMBLE
We'll learn two ensemble pieces. Arrangements are multi-level for 3-part ensemble; all levels welcome and encouraged. You'll get ideas and tips to improve your ensembles' sound. If time allows, we'll play through additional arrangements in A Harpers Play Book and A Circle of Harps.

ADD VARIETY & SPICE TO YOUR GIG BOOK!
Background music today must have variety and interest for the listener. Selections from classical to popular music, plus Latin and other types, are fun to play on the harp. The workshop explores repertoire sources, survival tips on the job, and technical ideas for harp players to spice up your playing! Using a piano arrangement, we'll make a harp arrangement of a popular song.

Fee: Only $40 for both workshops!

Bring extra $$ for Nancy's ensemble books ($15-20 each) and CDs ($16 each)!
